A Nigerian woman has shared her experience after arriving in Ghana, saying the sense of peace she felt was beyond words.
Speaking on a podcast shared online, she said, “I don’t mean to feed into the Ghana-versus-Nigeria narrative, but honestly, the moment we landed in Ghana, the peace that came over me cannot be explained.”
She contrasted the experience with her usual mindset when traveling to Nigeria. “When you’re going to Nigeria, especially if you land at the old terminal, you start preparing yourself even before getting off the plane. You’re thinking, ‘Let me hide this device, let me look serious, let me present myself a certain way,’” she explained.
However, she said the atmosphere in Ghana felt completely different from the moment she arrived. “When we got to Ghana, I was already gearing myself up, thinking, ‘Yes, please…’ you know how they say ‘please’ a lot. But as soon as the automatic doors opened, I just paused, why am I suddenly feeling this calm… even the cool air hit differently,” she added.
Her comments highlight the contrast she personally experienced, describing Ghana as a place where she immediately felt at ease.
