A Nigerian lady living in Ghana has shared how safe she feels, saying she was able to walk as late as 12:30 a.m. without fear.
In a video shared online, she expressed her excitement, saying, “I have never felt this safe in my life. Look at me taking a walk, this is 12:30 a.m., and I’m completely fine. Nobody is stopping me or harassing me.”
She explained that late-night walks have become part of her routine. “Almost every day, I come out for a walk, sometimes for an hour, depending on my energy. Here, you just have peace of mind,” she said.
According to her, the sense of freedom she enjoys is something she deeply appreciates. “There’s nothing like ‘don’t go out, it’s midnight.’ I can step out anytime I want. Nobody will harass me, kidnap me, or steal my phone. I even come out with my mic and tripod because I feel free,” she added.
Recounting a conversation with her sister, she said, “One night, my sister called and asked where I was. I told her I was outside taking a walk, and she was worried. I said, ‘Relax, I’m not there, I’m in Ghana, and I’m safe.’”
She concluded by praising the country, describing it as one of the safest places she has experienced.
