The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that Cabinet has approved Ghana’s new e-Visa policy, a move aimed at modernising travel procedures for people visiting the country for business and tourism.
In a post shared on X, the Minister explained that the e-Visa system will apply to travellers coming to Ghana for both business and tourism purposes.
“Cabinet has approved our new e-Visa policy. The e-Visa regime covers those traveling to Ghana for business and tourism,” he wrote.
He added that Ghana remains welcoming to all, especially at a time when some countries are becoming more restrictive.
“When others make you feel unwelcome, Ghana says this is your home to invest and to enjoy the beauty of nature.”
He also referenced President John Dramani Mahama’s message during his inauguration last year, stressing that Ghana is ready for business.
“As President Mahama declared, ‘Ghana is open for business again.’”
According to the Minister, the introduction of the e-Visa policy is part of a broader effort to use technology to improve the travel experience, while maintaining strong security measures.
“With smart policies, we are strengthening Ghana’s reputation as one of the most peaceful, friendly, and stable countries to visit in Africa, while ensuring a fast and convenient travel process backed by robust security checks.”
He concluded by saying the country’s reset agenda must be reflected in every sector.
“Resetting Ghana must reflect in every facet. For God and Country 🇬🇭🙏🏾”
