Former Ivory Coast international, Emmanuel Eboué, has spoken publicly about how Ghanaians helped him recover after losing everything he earned during his football career.

Speaking on The 5th House Podcast, the 42-year-old revealed that during his difficult period, he lived in Ghana for several years before returning to Ivory Coast.

“You have to start again in real life. When I faced that problem, I was already in Ghana. I didn’t go back to my country immediately, I stayed in Ghana for many years. I even told people I was going on holiday, but I was struggling,” he said.

He added that the support he received from Ghanaians made a huge difference in his life. “The Ghanaian people are very nice. They helped me a lot. My neighbors were always coming around to support me,” he shared.
