Mrs. Nimeesha Gupta, wife of the Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, says her favorite Ghanaian meal is jollof rice served with groundnut soup.
Speaking in an interview with host Anita Akua Akuffo on TV3’s The Afternoon Show, Mrs. Gupta said, “I would say jollof rice and groundnut soup. As a vegetarian, groundnut soup is my favorite, and I usually have it as a starter.
Then I ask, ‘What else can I have?’ and I’m often offered kelewele or yam chips. These are usually considered sides, but for me, they become the main dish because I am vegetarian. Of course, I enjoy it all with shito pepper sauce and jollof rice.”
