The W.E.B. Du Bois Museum Foundation in Accra, Cantoments will temporarily close to the public on Monday, March 31, 2026, to allow for internal operational activities, its management has announced.
In a statement issued on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Executive Director Japhet Aryiku the closure is necessary to facilitate the restoration of the Du Bois bungalow to its original state during residency of Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois and Shirley Graham Du Bois, as part of a broader program to rebuild the Du Bois Centre.

Management has advised the public and tourists to take note of the date when planning visits to the historic site, which attracts thousands of patrons each year.
The restored Du Bois bungalow is projected to reopen on or around Tuesday, February 23, 2027. Please read the full statement below.
